This Wild Justice petition has passed the crucial 100,000 threshold.
The controversersial badger cull is set to be debated in Parliament atermore than 100,000 people signed a petition demanding an immediate ban.
Some 140,830 of the animals have been culled since 2013 in a bid to curb the spread of tuberculoosis in cows.
Campaigners at the Wild Justice Group – which has three direcors, including TV wildlife presenter Chris Packham – launched an online petition aimed at ending the annual slaughter.
Calling for a block on shooting the animals, it says: “This method of culling is inhumane and should be banned immediatelty.”
Crossing the crucial 100,000 threshold means MP’s will now consider the plea for a debate in Westminster.
